Dear Colleague,
We are delightful to invite you to the 5th International Congress on Chemistry for Cultural Heritage – ChemCH2018, that will take place in Bucharest, Romania, on July 3-7, 2018.
This 2nd announcement will provide you all the information you need to plan your attendance.
Ten Plenary Lectures and four Keynote Lectures will be delivered by leading Scientists on topics that will appeal to all congress participants, at the cutting edge research in chemistry for cultural heritage. The programme fits in three days and includes study visits at selected museums. Of course, the backbone of the programme remains our plenary scientific sessions.
The poster sessions will have the popular rapid-fire poster sessions, where poster presenters will give a 2-minute e-poster presentation. The conference will offer the Best Poster Awards to the three best posters. ChemCH is committed to supporting young researchers. For the first time, ChemCH2018 will offer three Best Paper and Presentation Awards to young researchers who will present a paper as first author.
We would like to thank all of you who submitted one or more contributions for this congress. These contributions are the basis for the Scientific Committee to compose a scientific programme that presents new data and cutting edge ideas on the congress issues and topics.
We look forward to seeing you in Bucharest!

For the National Organising Committee of ChemCH2018,

The location for ChemCH2018 is Bucharest, a city with a strong international profile, which continues to redefine itself, merging its storied history with a modern identity. Bucharest has a rich and varied cultural history from its medieval past to the contemporary art scene that has transformed some of its former industrial areas and surprises many first-time visitors with its unique and evocative aesthetic, cosmopolitan vibe and energy.
The Conference venue is Central University Library of Bucharest, one of the most beautiful buildings in Bucharest. Opened in 1895, it was built on the land bought by King Carol I of Romania for the “Carol I University Foundation” (Fundaţia Universitară Carol I) and designed by French architect Paul Gottereau. During the events of 1989, a fire was started in the building and over 500,000 books were destroyed. With the help of Federico Mayor, general director of UNESCO, not only that the building was reconstructed and modernized, but also the book fund was mainly reconstituted. The library was reopened in 2001 and hosted some of the most important conferences and events in the intellectual area.
